About Us


DAWN is a professional organisation and a community of practice for Disability Officers who are responsible for supporting neurodiverse learners and learners with disabilities in higher education in Ireland. DAWN endeavours to achieve consistency in the standard and delivery of reasonable accommodations in examinations and assessments across the higher education sector. 


DAWN is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive academic environment for learners with disabilities in Higher Education across Ireland. DAWN provides a collaborative platform for disability advisors and access staff to share knowledge, advocate for effective policies, and implement best practices. Our commitment to equality and non-discrimination ensures that all members, irrespective of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, disability, religious or political belief, civil status, or age, are empowered to contribute and succeed.


Our objectives

  1. To provide a platform for disability advisors to share knowledge.
  2. To support learners with disabilities in Higher Education in  Ireland.
  3. To advocate for and contribute to policies and practices that support students with disabilities.
  4.  To strengthen links with the Further Education Sector and to collaborate and share practices.
